To that end...
Starting next week, I will be posting original, 100-word stories every Wednesday. Yes, you read that right.
Fiction.
100 words.
Every Wednesday.
Excited? Me too.
I'm calling these tiny stories inklings, and they are as much a creative exercise for me as something fun to share with you.
However, beginning with this post, I am closing down the comments section of this blog. Not because of anything you lovely people did; rather, it is what I must do to maintain healthy emotions and balance in my writing life. There is also a large part of me that wants you to enjoy (or hate) these bits of fiction without any kind of author intrusion. For me, once a piece of fiction is published, the writer needs to step back and allow readers to read in peace.
If you like a story, the best way to tell me is simply to share it with other people.
Another change: I will be sending out a newsletter at the end of each month for those who are interested. (The first one will be sent out at the end of March.) The newsletter will include news about my writing journey and upcoming publications as well as 1-2 book recommendations, my favorite reads for that month. But perhaps the best reason to subscribe: you will receive all the month's inklings in one place, plus an extra inkling, exclusive to the newsletter.
Signing up is easy: enter your email address into the specified box on my homepage and hit subscribe. Your email will not be shared with anyone and you may unsubscribe at anytime (though, that would make me sad).
And, as always, if you're looking for something more personal, something more like conversation, feel free to send me an email or connect with me on Twitter.
Happy Spring! Happy reading!
